What Is a World Time Converter?

A world time converter translates a specific time from one time zone into its equivalent in another. Type in “9:00 AM New York” and it instantly shows you 2:00 PM London, 7:30 PM Mumbai, and 11:00 PM Tokyo — all at once, all accurate, including daylight saving adjustments.

That sounds simple. The hard part is that time zones don't all offset by whole hours. India is UTC+5:30, Iran is UTC+3:30, Nepal is UTC+5:45. Australia has three mainland zones that each shift independently for DST. And the US and EU change their clocks on different dates, creating a two-to-three-week window every spring and autumn where every US-Europe conversion is off by an hour if you rely on memory.

A good time converter handles all of this automatically — no mental arithmetic, no DST lookup, no wondering whether a country switched last weekend. You enter the time, pick the zones, and get the answer.

📊 57% of workers use at least 3 different time zones in their weekly work, according to Harvard Business Review research on global collaboration. Getting a single conversion wrong doesn't just delay a meeting — it can derail a deal. — Harvard Business Review

How to Convert Time Zones in 3 Steps

  1. 1

    Open the Time Zone Converter

Go to the Time Zone Converter. You'll see two dropdowns — one for the source zone, one for the target zone — and a time input field.

  2. 2

Enter the time and select your zones

Type or click the time you want to convert. Search for your city or timezone in both dropdowns — the tool covers 500+ zones including EST, PST, IST, JST, AEST, CET, and all UTC offsets.

  3. 3

    Read the result instantly

The converted time appears immediately, with the correct date shown when the conversion crosses midnight. DST is applied automatically based on the actual calendar date.

The Most Common Time Zone Pairs

ConversionOffset (Standard)Who Uses It
EST → IST+10h 30mUS East Coast ↔ India teams
EST → GMT+5hNew York ↔ London calls
PST → IST+13h 30mUS West Coast ↔ India
GMT → IST+5h 30mUK ↔ India remote teams
EST → AEST+15h / +16hUS ↔ Australia (near-zero overlap)
UTC → EST−5h / −4hDevelopers, server logs
UTC → PST−8h / −7hDevelopers, server logs
EST → PST−3hUS cross-country scheduling

World Time Converter vs Manual Calculation

Google will tell you the current time in Tokyo. What it won't do is tell you what your 3 PM becomes in Tokyo next Thursday — especially when DST changes are involved.

Manual calculation works until it doesn't. EST is UTC−5 in winter but UTC−4 in summer. GMT is UTC+0 year-round but BST is UTC+1 in summer. India is UTC+5:30 always. If you're converting EST to IST in March, the offset changes on the second Sunday — but only on the US side, because India doesn't observe DST at all.

A world time converter removes all of that from your mental load. Pick the zones, pick the date, read the result. It's the difference between a 30-second task and a 5-minute exercise in timezone arithmetic that still might have an error.
